Santa Fe City and County Advisory Council on Food Policy is Seeking Two New Members

Santa Fe – Santa Fe County is seeking citizens to serve on the Santa Fe City and County Advisory Council on Food Policy (Food Policy Council).  The purpose of the Food Policy Council is to improve the availability of safe and nutritious food at reasonable prices for all residents, particularly those in need.  The Food Policy Council is seeking two individuals who can commit to attend regular meetings and community events, have strong community relationships, have knowledge related to food and/or farming, and are passionate about building a stronger food system in the City and the County.  Members can expect to assist in engaging the community and in studying and recommending policy relating to getting, learning about and growing food in Santa Fe County.   The two membership positions are to be appointed by the Santa Fe Board of County Commissioners.

Applicants must be actively engaged in at least one program, service, or business related to hunger and food insecurity or the production, processing and distribution of food.  Applicants may reside anywhere within Santa Fe County.

The Food Policy Council generally holds meetings on the fourth Thursday of each month from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Applicants interested in serving on the Food Policy Council should submit a letter of interest, resume, conflict of interest form, and Food Policy Council questionnaire.  (Please call or send an email requesting questionnaire and conflict of interest form.)
