Absentee Voting & Secure Drop Boxes
Request an absentee ballot, join the Permanent Absentee List, and return your ballot securely.
Important Information
Absentee voting allows voters to receive a ballot by mail instead of voting in person. Voters may request a one-time absentee ballot for a specific election or join the Permanent Absentee List to automatically receive absentee ballots for future eligible elections.
Completed absentee ballots may be returned by mail or placed in a secure ballot drop box during the voting period. Secure drop boxes are under 24-hour video surveillance and are considered polling places for the purposes of electioneering. Campaign signs and campaigning must remain outside the 100-foot electioneering boundary.
Drive-up drop boxes are marked with an asterisk (*).
Choose the Absentee Option That Works Best for You
One-Time Absentee Ballot
This option is best if you want a ballot mailed to you for one specific election.
- You submit an absentee ballot request for the election.
- Your ballot is mailed to you when ballots are available.
- You return your completed ballot by mail or secure drop box.
- You will need to submit a new request for future elections.
Permanent Absentee List
This option is best if you regularly vote from home and want absentee ballots automatically mailed to you for future eligible elections.
- You opt in to the Permanent Absentee List once.
- You automatically receive absentee ballots for future eligible elections.
- You return each completed ballot by mail or secure drop box.
- You can still update your voter registration information when needed.
In short: A one-time absentee request sends you a ballot for one election. Joining the Permanent Absentee List means ballots will automatically be mailed to you for future eligible elections.
