Mission Statement
The Santa Fe County Attorney's Office serves as legal counsel to the Santa Fe County Board of County Commissioners, the County Manager, elected officials, and certain boards and commissions.
In observance of Indigenous Peoples Day, all Santa Fe County offices will be closed on Monday, October 14th. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, October 15th. Click here for more info

Represent the Board of County Commissioners, the County Manager, elected officials, and certain boards and commissions in federal and state courts.
Review and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other documents.
Review proposed ordinances, resolutions, polices and procedures.
Assist Santa Fe County staff and officials with understanding and complying with state and federal laws which apply to the County, including the Open Meetings Act, Inspection of Public Records Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Americans with Disabilities Act and Family and Medical Leave Act.
