Santa Fe County administrative offices will close at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, and remain closed on Thursday, January 1, 2026, in observance of the New Year’s holiday.
Regular business hours will resume on Friday, January 2, 2026. All Solid Waste Convenience Centers will be closed. All Senior Centers will be closed and activities canceled. Extra home-delivered meals will be provided in advance to eligible seniors. Public Safety essential services will remain uninterrupted

Mission Statement

The Santa Fe County Attorney's Office serves as legal counsel to the Santa Fe County Board of County Commissioners, the County Manager, elected officials, and certain boards and commissions. 

What We Do

  • Represent the Board of County Commissioners, the County Manager, elected officials, and certain boards and commissions in federal and state courts.

  • Review and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other documents.

  • Review proposed ordinances, resolutions, polices and procedures.

  • Assist Santa Fe County staff and officials with understanding and complying with state and federal laws which apply to the County, including the Open Meetings Act, Inspection of Public Records Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Americans with Disabilities Act and Family and Medical Leave Act.
