Frijoles Fire Update | Cundiyo & Cerro Piñon: READY Status

Urgent Message
ROAD CLOSURE: NM 503 is closed between County Road 98 and State Road 76.

Due to increased activity on the Frijoles Fire, the communities of Cundiyo and Cerro Piñon are placed in READY status. There is no evacuation order at this time.Residents should be prepared in case conditions change. Gather essential items and make a plan to leave if evacuation orders are issued. Gregory S. Shaffer was appointed by the Board of County Commissioners (Board) to implement Board decisions.

The County Manager serves as the legislative function of the Board by providing research, information, and recommendations, and serves as the executive function of the Board by providing management assistance.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to efficiently and effectively support and implement the Santa Fe County Board of County Commissioners’ (BCC) policies and priorities and manage the resources of the County in order to provide high-quality services and support to our residents, businesses, and visitors.

We are committed to fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and transparency, while ensuring fiscal responsibility and accountability. By working closely with our community partners and stakeholders, we aim to enhance the overall quality of life in the county, promote economic growth and development, and address the evolving needs and challenges of our diverse population.

What We Do

The County Manager's Office (CMO) includes the Administration and Commission sections as well as the Finance, Human Resources, and Information Technology divisions. 

Collectively, the CMO is responsible for preparing the County's budget, providing the BCC with the information they need to make informed decisions, implementing transparency measures, representing the County in intergovernmental relationships, coordinating the work of all County departments, resolving interdepartmental problems, and coordinating the overall administration of County government.
