Santa Fe County will host a community meeting to discuss infrastructure and public safety concerns in the Glorieta and Ojo de la Vaca area.
Commissioner Johnson and Commissioner Bustamante will be in attendance. County leadership staff will provide updates and discuss the following topics:
Galisteo River Flooding
- Impacts from the multi-day flood event last August
- Current conditions at the river crossing
- Potential mitigation strategies under consideration (including possible structural improvements and riverbed concerns)
County Road 51 (Ojo de la Vaca Road)
- Current road conditions and accessibility challenges
- Emergency egress concerns
- Potential remediation options to improve viability and safety
BNSF Railroad Power Lines
- Condition of power infrastructure running along the canyon
- Reported safety concerns
- Coordination efforts with BNSF regarding inspection and maintenance
This meeting provides residents an opportunity to receive updates, ask questions, and engage in discussion regarding flood mitigation, roadway safety, and emergency preparedness in the area.
