Santa Fe, NM– Santa Fe County is pleased to announce upcoming public hearings for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. Established under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, it aims to support communities by funding essential facilities, ensuring decent housing, promoting economic development, and maintaining a suitable living environment. The State of New Mexico anticipates an annual allocation of approximately $11 million, distributed competitively across the state.

The state and national objectives of the New Mexico CDBG Program prioritize activities that principally benefit low- and moderate-income persons. Grant applications can request up to $500,000 without certified cost estimates from a licensed professional, and there is no cap with certified cost estimates. Planning applications are limited to $50,000.

To ensure that local citizens have the opportunity to be informed about the CDBG Program, concerns, or project initiatives, Santa Fe County will host the following public hearing:

Time: 1:30 pm or immediately following the conclusion of the Housing Authority Board meeting

Location: 102 Grant Ave. Santa Fe, NM 87501 (County Commission Chambers 2nd Floor)

During the hearings, eligible activities and categories will be outlined in detail. All interested parties are encouraged to attend, present project ideas, provide supporting data, and offer testimony. This is a valuable opportunity for residents to express their needs and influence the planning of future community development projects.

Santa Fe County is committed to accessibility and will provide auxiliary aids or translation services upon request. Individuals requiring these services should contact the Growth Management Department at 505-995-2737 in advance of the hearing to discuss specific needs, such as interpreters for the hearing-impaired, readers for the visually impaired, or translation services.
