Agua Fria Street, Henry Lynch Road, Lopez Lane and Caja del Oro Grant Road Paving Project Begins November 21 IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SANTA FE – As part of its commitment to improve road infrastructure, Santa Fe County has contracted with Star Paving to re-pave the County maintained portions of Agua Fria Street, Henry Lynch Road, Lopez Lane, and Caja del Oro Grant Road. The project will be conducted in 6 phases to minimize disruption to through traffic and should be completed by the end of December 2022, weather permitting.

Road paving will typically occur between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and is scheduled to begin on Monday, November 21, 2022. In an effort to expedite work and to minimize disruptions to businesses, Santa Fe County may allow the contractor to work on Saturdays.

The phased work will be scheduled as follows with roadside message boards updated daily to keep the public informed:

Phase 1 - Agua Fria Street between Willy Road and Lopez Lane.
Phase 2 - Henry Lynch Road from Agua Fria Street to Wofford Lane.
Phase 3 - Agua Fria Street from Skeeter Lane to San Ysidro Crossing.
Phase 4 - Agua Fria Street from San Ysidro Crossing to Lopez Lane.
Phase 5 - Lopez Lane from Agua Fria Street to Rufina Street.
Phase 6 - Caja del Oro Grant Road from Agua Fria Street to Camino Cementerio.
In order to accommodate this phased paving in a safe manner, it will be necessary to close each road to through traffic while the road is being re-paved. During the paving operations, roads will be open to local traffic and emergency vehicles and will re-open at the end of each workday.

Motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists are urged to seek alternate routes. Expect a full detour and allow additional time to negotiate these road closures. Thank you in advance for your continued patience, cooperation, and use of caution in work zones.

For more information on these road closures, please contact Johnny Baca, SFC Project Manager III, at 505-992-3020.
