April 8, 2014 BCC Summary

Below is a summary of the actions taken by the Santa Fe Board of County Commissioners (BCC).  All five Commissioners were present (Commissioner Mayfieldvia telephone)

  • ·         Authorization to Publish Title and General Summary of an Ordinance amending Ordinance 2014-1 (An Ordinance establishing a Living Wage within Santa Fe County; specifying employers subject to the Living Wage; making findings as to the necessity of a Living Wage; establishing a prohibition on retaliation for reporting penalties; specifying enforcement officer; providing the process to be employed upon complaints of violations; establishing severability; and providing an effective date) to modify the base wage for tipped employees, passed 4-1, with Commissioner Stefanics voting against.
  • ·         Authorization to Publish Title and General Summary of Economic Development Ordinance No. 2014-___, an Ordinance approving the 2014 Economic Development Plan; repealing on a limited basis Ordinance No. 1997-07; providing for detailed rules to be applied to assistance of qualifying economic projects, including the qualifications of applicants, requiring an application, requiring a project participation agreement and specifying its contents; providing for limitations on the amount of assistance permitted pursuant to the Local Economic Development Act; and requiring a special fund for monies received or held for an Economic Development Project, passed by unanimous vote 5-0
  • ·         Authorization to Publish Title and General Summary of an Ordinance dedicating, in quarterly installments, an amount equal to a gross receipts tax of one-twelfth (1/12) percent applied to the taxable gross receipts reported during the prior fiscal year by persons engaged in business in the County to the newly created Safety net Care Pool Fund; and providing an effective date of transferring funds, passed unanimous vote 5-0

  • ·         CDRC Case # V 14-5020 Dennis& LynneComeauVariance.  Dennisand LynneComeau, applicants, request a variance of Article VII, Section 3.4.1.C.1.C.I (No Build Areas) to allow 30% slope disturbance for an existing driveway to access buildable area on a 66.52 acre parcel.  The property is located at

  • ·         CDRC Case # V 14-5000 LeePackVariance.  LeePack, applicant, requests a variance of Article V, Section 8.1.3 (Legal Access) and Article V, 8.2.1c (Local Roads) of the Land Development Code to allow the construction of a residence on 2.5 acres.  Both roads that service the property (Old Buckman Road and Kalitaya Way) do not meet the specifications of local lane, place or cul-de-sac roads and do not have adequate drainage control necessary to insure adequate access for emergency vehicles.  The property is located at

  • ·         BCC Case # MIS 10-5152 The Downsat Santa Fe Master Plan Extension.  The Pueblo of Pojoaque Development Corporation, applicant, requests a two year time extension of a previously approved Master Plan, for the Downs at Santa Fe.   The property is located within the La Cienega Traditional Historic Community, at 27475 I-25 West Frontage Road, within Sections 26 &27, Township 16 North, Range 8 East, was passed by unanimous vote 4-0 (Commissioner Stefanicswas not present at vote)
  • ·         CDRC Case # S/V 12-5451 Cielo ColoradoEstates Preliminary Development Plan, Plat and Variance.  Cielo Colorado LLC., applicant, James W. Siebert, agent, request preliminary development plan and plat approval for  a 24-lot residential subdivision on tract 15a-2 of the Eldorado at Santa Fe subdivision consisting of 246.30 acres more or less.  The application also includes a request for a variance of Ordinance No. 2008-10 (flood damage prevention and storm water management) to allow access through a 100-year flood plain without an all-weather crossing.  The property is located on the east side of US 285, off CaminoActoe, within Sections 21 and 22, Township 15 North, Range 10 East, passed by unanimous vote 4-0 (Commissioner Stefanicswas not present at vote)
