County Announces Additional Free Green Waste Drop-Off Days—No Permit Required
Santa Fe, NM – In support of wildfire prevention efforts and community safety, the Santa Fe County Public Works Department has expanded free green waste drop-off opportunities this summer to help residents create defensible space around their homes. No Solid Waste permit is required—just bring a valid photo ID and proof of Santa Fe County residency.
NEW: Free Green Waste Drop-Off Events – June 28 & June 30, 2025
Saturday, June 28, 2025
Hours: 8:00 am- 5:00 pm
Locations: The following County convenience centers
- Eldorado
- Stanley
- Jacona
- La Cienega (accepting green waste for this date only)
Monday, June 30, 2025
Hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Locations:
- La Puebla Fire Station (#31 Firehouse Rd. Española, NM 87532)
- Glorieta (Exit 299 off I-25)
- Bulk Water Station (13-B Camino Justicia Santa Fe, NM 87508)
These additional drop-off events are part of the County’s proactive efforts to reduce hazardous fuel loads across the wildland-urban interface and promote safer communities ahead of peak wildfire season.
Ongoing Free Green Waste Drop-Off for Permit Holders
Residents with a valid Santa Fe County Solid Waste Permit can continue to drop off green waste for free at Stanley, Jacona, and Eldorado on the following dates:
- July 11–12, 2025
- August 1–2, 2025
- September 5–6, 2025
What Is Green Waste?
Green waste includes yard trimmings, leaves, branches, brush, and untreated wood debris. To learn more about accepted items, visit the Santa Fe County Convenience Center webpage.
Toss No Mas – Free Solid Waste Disposal Day
Date: Saturday, September 20, 2025
Locations: All Santa Fe County Convenience Centers, including Eldorado, Jacona, La Cienega, Nambe, San Marcos, and Stanley
All rules and guidelines for waste disposal apply. Please review prohibited materials under Ordinance No. 2014-010 before visiting a drop-off site.
