Many leaders from surrounding counties, cities and pueblos participated in the event including; representatives from Tesuque Pueblo, Pojoaque Pueblo, San Ildefonso Pueblo, Santa Clara Pueblo, the Santa Fe County Commission, the Rio Arriba County Commission, Los Alamos County Council, Mayor Coss from the City of Santa Fe, Mayor Maestas from the City of Espanola, state legislators, and representatives from our Congressional delegation and various other federal and state agencies.

Ben R. Lujan, Chairman of the Public Regulation Commission (PRC) delivered the keynote address discussing the interactions that the PRC has with local governments and ways it can better serve them. Proposed budget cuts at the Los Alamos National Laboratory were another key issue. The cuts would have a very damaging effect on the economy of all the communities represented. Strategies for leveraging the influence of the group were considered.

“It is a rare and very beneficial opportunity to have so many government entities available all at once to listen and offer their input on the key regional issues” said Santa Fe County Commissioner Harry Montoya “The ability to meet at least once a year at one place and at one time can greatly improve the communication that is needed to deal with collaborative issues that need to be addressed. Santa Fe County is grateful to provide this opportunity to the area local governments.”
