County to Hold Public Meetings to Discuss

Santa Fe, NM. February 23, 2007 -- The North Central Regional Transit District
(NCRTD) and Santa Fe County will be holding two public meetings to announce
the start of the Greater Eldorado Express bus service – the G-Line. Made
possible by a partnership of the NCRTD, Santa Fe County and the New Mexico
Department of Transportation (NMDOT), the G-Line will be the first public
transportation project to serve residents in Santa Fe County. Scheduled stops in
Santa Fe will be St. Vincent’s Hospital, NMDOT complex, and the
Sheridan/Palace stop downtown.
The meetings will be held on March 5th and March 19th at the Eldorado
Community Improvement Association Railroad Building at 6:30 pm. The purpose
of the meetings will be to announce the G-Line’s starting date and to discuss
parking arrangements and routing schedule. The G-Line is slated to begin
service on April 2nd with parking available at the Agora Shopping Center.
“We’re excited about the G-Line and what it will mean to the residents in
Eldorado” said Jack Kolkmeyer, Director of the Land Use Department for Santa
Fe County “We’re encouraging residents to make time to attend these meetings.
The G-Line is designed to serve them, so we want to hear what they have to say
about it.”
All Aboard America, the transportation service provider, will be conducting
surveys at both meetings. The results of the surveys will then be tallied and
evaluated to finalize route scheduling.
