SANTA FE, NM, Jan. 9, 2026 — The Santa Fe County Growth Management Department’s Building and Development Services is seeking a qualified resident, representing the community at large, to serve on the Planning Commission for a two-year term beginning in March 2026 and ending in March 2028. The application deadline is Friday, February 6, at 5:00 p.m.

Commission members are responsible for attending monthly public hearings on the third Thursday of every month and special meetings as needed. They must have a computer, email, and internet access to be able to view packet materials for Planning Commission meetings and to access the public meetings via Microsoft Teams if necessary.

During Planning Commission meetings, applicants present projects, County staff provide their reports and recommendations, and the public can provide comments about land development proposals. The Planning Commission subsequently makes land development-related decisions and/or recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners. Projects heard by this commission range from variance requests to Conditional Use Permits and Planned Development Districts.
