New Mexico Fire Marshal’s Office to Host Multi-Fire Department Agency Event in Celebration of National Fire Prevention Week

Santa Fe, New Mexico – The New Mexico Fire Marshal's Office is excited to announce the inaugural New Mexico Fire Prevention EXPO, a one-of-a-kind event co-hosted by the Santa Fe County Fire Department. This family-friendly event will take place on October 11th, 2023, at the Santa Fe County Rodeo Grounds (3229 Rodeo Rd, Santa Fe, NM 87507), from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The EXPO is open to the public free of charge and is designed to celebrate "National Fire Prevention Week" from October 8th to October 15th.

The New Mexico Fire Prevention EXPO will feature multiple fire department agencies, including the Bernalillo County Fire Department (BCFD), Albuquerque Fire Rescue (AFR), Santa Fe Fire Department (SFFD), Los Alamos Fire Department, Taos Fire Department, and the New Mexico Homeland Security and Emergency Management team.

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of activities and displays, including fire trucks, ladder trucks, EMS units, and interactive fire department booths suitable for all ages. In addition to the informative and engaging exhibits, there will be food vendors.

The inception of this event was in response to the New Mexico Fire Prevention Week Proclamation, signed by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, emphasizing the importance of fire safety and prevention in our community.
