New Mexico Legislature honors Santa Fe County in House and Senate Chambers
SANTA FE, NM, Feb. 18, 2026 — Last week, the New Mexico Legislature declared Santa Fe County Day in the House and Senate Chambers recognizing the County’s excellent community service and collaborative working relationships.
The Legislature recognized the County's diverse and vibrant array of communities, including artists, farmers and ranchers, filmmakers, outdoor enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, restaurateurs, families, students, and the sovereign Pueblos of Tesuque, Pojoaque, Nambé, and San Ildefonso, whose living traditions and land stewardship continue to influence the region.
House Representative Tara L. Lujan proclaimed Feb. 12 as Santa Fe County Day in the House, acknowledging great progress in affordable housing, juvenile and community services, waterwise initiatives, and economic development.
House members shared appreciation for the County’s collaborative efforts, leadership partnership and good stewardship making this a great place to live and visit.
“The work you do is so critical—I’m incredibly proud of your work with the juvenile health center, affordable housing, amazing green spaces, and amazing service,” said House Majority Floor Leader Reena Szczepanski.
On the House floor representing the County were Assessor Isaiah F. Romero and Deputy Assessor Ivan Barry, and Commissioners Lisa Cacari Stone, Justin S. Greene, and Adam F. Johnson.
The County was again recognized, Friday Feb. 13, with Santa Fe County Day in the Senate Chamber, for supporting world class cultural and artistic events, including Fiestas de Santa Fe, International Folk Art Market, Santa Fe Opera, Santa Fe Indian Market, the Traditional Spanish Market, and the Santa Fe Wine and Chile Fiesta.
State Senator Leo Jaramillo shared appreciation for the County’s continued cultural leadership and service to the State. “Santa Fe County is shaping the identity of the future of New Mexico,” Jaramillo said.
Other members of the Senate recognized the unique experiences, blessings and challenges that come with serving both rural and urban communities.
“I appreciate your friendship and collaboration in support of our communities and the people that we love so dearly,” said State Senator Linda M. Trujillo.
In the Senate Chamber representing Santa Fe County were Deputy Assessor Ivan Berry, Deputy Clerk Katherine E. Clark, and Commissioners Camilla Bustamante, Lisa Cacari Stone, Justin S. Greene, Hank Hughes, and Adam F. Johnson.
