New project deadlines for Santa Fe County capital project requests
SANTA FE, NM, March 26, 2026—Each year, Santa Fe County updates its five-year Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan (ICIP) and seeks community input on new project ideas. The County's Growth Management Department Planning Team has important updates about the deadlines for community members to provide input on the fiscal year (FY) 2028-2032 ICIP.
The ICIP establishes priorities for anticipated capital projects that align with the County’s long-term vision and strategic goals. It supports affordable housing, transportation, economic development, community facilities, public safety facilities, water infrastructure, and more.
To meet the State’s July 1, 2026, submission deadline for the upcoming FY 2028-2032 ICIP, Santa Fe County established the deadlines for project submissions below. Please note that County staff will accept capital project requests from constituents, nonprofits, registered community organizations, and resident associations throughout the calendar year. However, this timeline ensures that project submissions will be included in the upcoming ICIP and considered for Board approval and State funding.
Upcoming fiscal year 2028-2032 capital projects deadlines:
- May 31, 2026: Deadline for community members to submit project requests to County staff for review and consolidation into the FY 2028-2032 ICIP.
- The project request form may be found here: Capital project request form and on the Planning website.
- Additional information on the County’s ICIP process may be found in this virtual public presentation.
- June 2026: Growth Management and Planning staff will present the ICIP to the Board of County Commissioners. Additional information will be forthcoming on these dates.
- End of June 2026-July 1, 2026: ICIP projects will be submitted to the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration by Santa Fe County.
