Pojoaque Basin Regional Water System Open House Events Scheduled  

"Benefits and Importance of System Connection, Well Owner Options, Easement Acquisitions, & Project Timelines"  

Santa Fe, NM- Santa Fe County is scheduled to host two community Open Houses on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from 6:00 pm-8:30 pm at Tesuque Elementary Gymnasium (1555 Bishops Lodge Rd, Santa Fe, NM 87506) and May 21, 2025, from 6:00 pm-8:30 pm at Pojoaque Middle School Auditorium (1797 NM-502, Jaconita, NM 87506) concerning the Pojoaque Basin Regional Water System (PBRWS).  

The meetings are in partnership with the Office of the State Engineer (OSE) and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (BOR). Interactive information tables will be available on the topics of options available to domestic well owners, the benefits of connecting to the system, how guaranteed connections to the PBRWS will impact the decision of what distribution lines will be built, easement acquisitions, and project timelines. Residents will have the opportunity to speak with project staff, ask questions, and receive assistance completing required forms. 

Santa Fe County encourages all area residents, especially those within the project boundary or with wells on their property, to attend a meeting.   

About the Project 

The Pojoaque Basin Regional Water System will provide treated drinking water to the Pueblos of Pojoaque, Nambé, San Ildefonso, and Tesuque, as well as to Santa Fe County customers. Once operational, the system will deliver up to 2,500 acre-feet of water annually for consumptive use, with future capacity for expansion.
