Proposed Fire & EMS Services Agreement with Santa fe County and the Town of Edgewood
The Santa Fe County Board of County Commissioners will consider a proposed Joint Powers Agreement between Santa Fe County and the Town of Edgewood for fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical services, and fire prevention services within the portion of Edgewood located inside Santa Fe County.
The proposed agreement outlines the terms for Santa Fe County Fire Department to continue providing fire and EMS services to residents and visitors in the Santa Fe County portion of Edgewood.
Key items in the proposed agreement include:
- Santa Fe County Fire Department would provide fire, rescue, and EMS services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- The agreement includes fire prevention services, including development review, inspections, and fire code enforcement.
- The Town of Edgewood would provide payments to the County related to fire service costs, technical consultation, transition support, and capital support.
- The agreement would take effect July 1, 2026, or upon approval by the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration, whichever is later.
