Santa Fe County Administrative Offices and Facilities Closed in Observation of Martin Luther King Jr. Day

 

Santa Fe, NM - In recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and his advocacy for civil rights in America, Santa Fe County offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, January 19, 2026. The County will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, January 20.

  • All Solid Waste Convenience Centers will be closed on Monday in accordance with their regular operating schedule.
  • All Senior Centers will also be closed, and home-delivered meals will be delivered to eligible seniors.

Essential services provided by Public Safety will remain uninterrupted.

In a proclamation at the January 13, Board of County Commissioners regular meeting, commissioners also recognized Tuesday, January 20, as the National Day of Racial Healing. With this proclamation, the County remains committed to meaningful actions that promote dignity, equity, and mutual respect for all.

At the meeting, community leaders reflected on Dr. King's legacy and today's ongoing work toward justice and healing, including remarks from Miles Tokunow, Executive Director, Contigo Immigrant Justice; Little V. West, Chair, New Mexico Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission; and Cedric D. Page, Treasurer, Santa Fe Chapter of the NAACP.

The County honors Dr. King's legacy through dialogue, policy, and community-driven actions to advance racial healing, equity, and justice in Santa Fe County.
