SANTA FE, N.M., April 16, 2026—Santa Fe County will begin construction for the Encantado Road Improvements Project, May 4, along Encantado Road in District 5. The work is expected to take about seven months to complete, and involves paving the road and updating infrastructure to improve drainage and reduce flooding.

There will be a Town Hall to discuss the project, and what residents can expect, at the Max Coll Corridor Community Center on Thursday, April 23, at 6:00 p.m., located at 16 Avenida Torreon, Santa Fe, N.M., 87508.

There may be periodic traffic impacts, including lane closures, temporary delays, and construction equipment operating within the project corridor. Property access will be maintained throughout construction; however, there may be short-term interruptions as work progresses. Santa Fe County is committed to minimizing any disruptions and will maintain clear communication and provide updates throughout the project. Letters were mailed to residents along the project corridor to notify them of these updates.

Certain properties along Encantado Road may require Temporary Work Permits to allow the County and its contractor to perform limited construction activities needed to safely connect driveways, drainage improvements, and roadway connections to the road. Tierra Right of Way Services, Ltd., working on behalf of Santa Fe County, will reach out directly to affected property owners to provide additional information and coordinate the permitting process.

Residents are encouraged to attend the Town Hall to learn more about the project, anticipated impacts, and ask questions directly to the project team. Santa Fe County staff, District 5 Commissioner Hank Hughes, the project contractor (TLC), the project engineer (Horrocks), and Tierra Right of Way Service, Ltd., will be available to answer questions.
