Santa Fe County continues roadwork on Richards Avenue
SANTA FE, NM, March 4, 2026—Beginning March 10, roadwork will take place on Richards Avenue in Santa Fe County between Rabbit Road and Avenida del Sur. Message boards were placed along the route in advance, to warn travelers of the expected work.
Contractors will remove the humps on the roadway shoulders leftover from the initial paving process. This work is expected to continue for two days, through March 11.
Work will continue in the following days as a different set of contractors smooths the transitions on the roads, including on two roundabouts: one connecting to Willow Back Road and one connecting to College Drive by Santa Fe Community College.
During the roadwork, one-lane traffic will be directed as needed by operators on location. Allow extra time for travel through the area and watch the road for workers.
