Santa Fe County Cooperative Extension Open House

Santa Fe, NM- New Mexico State University and Santa Fe County Extension are pleased to invite you to the Santa Fe County Cooperative Extension Open House on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 3229 Rodeo Rd, Santa Fe, NM 87507, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. This exciting event promises a day of engaging demonstrations, informative exhibits, educational garden and land restoration tours, and the opportunity to connect with our dedicated local Extension agents, Master Gardeners, and 4-H Youth Volunteers. Best of all, admission and parking are completely free!

The Santa Fe County Cooperative Extension Open House is your chance to discover the wealth of educational programs offered to the Santa Fe community. Here are some highlights of what you can expect:

Master Gardener Tours: Embark on guided tours of our diverse gardens, showcasing cactus, pollinator-friendly plants, herbs, and exquisite roses. Learn about sustainable gardening practices, including composting, seed saving, passive water harvesting, land reclamation, and landscaping.

Family Fun Activities: Join the excitement while getting exercise by making a bike smoothie, experimenting with the veggie meter, and taking a tour of the Extension kitchen to explore cooking and nutrition through the ICAN program.

4-H Youth Programs: Meet our enthusiastic 4-H representatives and learn about the fantastic free programs available to youth in our community.

The event will kick off with opening remarks by Tom Dominguez, Santa Fe County Extension County Director, and will feature the presence of local dignitaries.

Tom Dominguez, Santa Fe County Extension County Director, shared his thoughts on the event, stating, "We want interested residents to learn what Extension Education has to offer them and take advantage of our services and programs. We provide Research based knowledge to improve lives for Santa Fe residents."
