Santa Fe County Fire Department Announces Regional Staffing at La Puebla Fire Station

SANTA FE, N.M., May 21, 2026 —Santa Fe County is proud to announce regional staffing of Fire Station 52 in La Puebla, a major investment in public safety that will enhance emergency response capabilities for the communities of Santa Cruz, La Puebla, and Chimayó.

Beginning in mid-June, Station 52 will provide dedicated emergency response coverage throughout the service area. Staffed regionally and operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the station will improve fire protection services and reduce emergency medical response times for surrounding communities.

“This new station reflects our continued commitment to strengthening public safety services and improving response times for residents in northern Santa Fe County,” said Santa Fe County Fire Chief Jacob Black. “Having dedicated regional staffing available around the clock will make a meaningful difference for the communities we serve.”

To commemorate the opening of Station 52, the Santa Fe County Fire Department will host an official Grand Opening and traditional department “Wet Down” ceremony in June. The addition of Station 52 represents Santa Fe County’s ongoing commitment to investing in critical emergency infrastructure, strengthening regional response capabilities, and ensuring reliable public safety services for residents across the county.
