Santa Fe County launches new phase of fentanyl awareness campaign: Your Tomorrow Matters

SANTA FE, N.M., Oct. 9, 2026—Santa Fe County released a new phase of its public awareness campaign focused on opioid use prevention, fentanyl, overdose prevention, harm reduction, and recovery. You may see the campaign on billboards, buses, posters, and social media. The poster is available in English and Spanish.

The new campaign, “Your Tomorrow Matters,” takes a hopeful, life-affirming approach to an ongoing public health challenge. At its center is a simple message:

Your Tomorrow Matters

Every day alive is a chance for recovery. Choose life over fentanyl today.

The campaign emphasizes the value of every life and the possibilities that exist every day. Change does not have to happen all at once. A choice made today can create an opportunity for a different tomorrow, and every day alive provides another opportunity to seek support, connect with loved ones, explore recovery, or choose a new path forward.

Continuing the “Never Use Alone” message

The new campaign brings a positive and forward-looking message while emphasizing an important harm-reduction practice: Never Use Alone.

Using opioids or other substances alone can leave a person without anyone nearby to recognize an overdose, call for emergency assistance, or administer naloxone (Narcan). Having someone nearby can provide an opportunity for lifesaving intervention when an overdose occurs.

The campaign reinforces that connection can save lives—reaching out for support is an important step toward staying alive and finding a path to recovery.

Santa Fe County’s previous fentanyl awareness efforts highlighted “Never Use Alone” alongside information about naloxone, treatment, harm reduction, and local support services. The new campaign builds on those efforts by adding a message centered on hope, possibility, and the future.

Help is available in the community

The “Your Tomorrow Matters” campaign connects residents with multiple avenues for information, support, and resources, including:

  • La Sala Crisis Center — 2052 S. Galisteo Street, Santa Fe, New Mexico
  • New Mexico Department of Health Helpline — Text “NMDOH” to 66364
  • Online resources — A QR code featured on campaign materials will connect residents directly to local opioid prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery resources.

The campaign is designed to meet people where they are. Whether someone is looking for information, naloxone, treatment, recovery support, or simply a place to begin, the message is simple: there is another step you can take, and there is help available.

Every Life Matters. Every Tomorrow Starts Today.

Fentanyl can be present in an unpredictable and unregulated drug supply, creating a serious risk of overdose. Santa Fe County’s public awareness efforts provide practical information intended to reduce overdose risk while connecting residents with services that support health, safety, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery.

At its heart, “Your Tomorrow Matters” is a message about possibility.

A person’s circumstances can change. Recovery is possible. Support is available. And a choice made today can create an opportunity for a different tomorrow.
