Santa Fe County Offers Free Tire Recycling Days this May and June

Santa Fe, NM – To support the recycling of used tires in our community, Santa Fe County will offer free tire disposal for residents at participating County convenience centers on the following days in May and June: 

  • Friday, May 23rd 
  • Saturday, May 24th 
  • Friday, June 6th 
  • Saturday, June 7th  

Free tire recycling will be available on these days at all Santa Fe County convenience centers except the Tesuque transfer station. The locations of the participating convenience centers are outlined below, and they are open from 8 am to 5 pm: 

  • Eldorado - 28736 US Hwy 285, Santa Fe, NM 87508 
  • Jacona - 1696 NM-502, Santa Fe, NM 87506 
  • La Cienega - 25 Co Rd 54B, Santa Fe, NM 87507 
  • Nambe - 605 NM-503, Nambe, NM 87506 
  • San Marcos - 366 Cam. Los Abuelos, Los Cerrillos, NM 87010 
  • Stanley - 20 Co Rd 14A, Stanley, NM 87056 

Important Guidelines: 

Each community member may drop off a maximum of eight tires per day and must have a valid punch card. Tire rims must be separated from tires and placed in a designated scrap metal bin. 

Funding support for these free tire recycling days is provided by the New Mexico Environment Department’s Recycling and Illegal Dumping (RAID) Grant. Learn more about the benefits of tire recycling here.
