Santa Fe County Open Houses - Pojoaque Basin Regional Water System

Santa Fe, NM - Santa Fe County will host two community Open Houses about the Pojoaque Basin Regional Water System (PBRWS):

  • Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 PM at the Tesuque Elementary School Gymnasium (1555 Bishops Lodge Rd, Santa Fe, NM 87506)
  • Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 PM at the Pojoaque Middle School Auditorium (1797 NM-502, Jaconita, NM 87506)

The events are being held in partnership with the Office of the State Engineer (OSE) and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (BOR).

Attendees can visit interactive information tables covering topics such as:

Options available to domestic well owners

Benefits of connecting to the PBRWS

Assistance preparing documentation for connecting to the system, once available

How guaranteed connection commitments influence distribution line planning

Easement acquisition

Residents will be able to speak directly with project staff, ask questions, and get help completing the forms required to connect to the system once it is finished.

Santa Fe County encourages all area residents, especially those within the project boundary or with wells on their property, to attend.

About the Project 

The Pojoaque Basin Regional Water System will provide treated drinking water to the Pueblos of Pojoaque, Nambé, San Ildefonso, and Tesuque, as well as to Santa Fe County customers. Once operational, the system will deliver up to 2,500 acre-feet of water annually for consumptive use, with future capacity for expansion.
