Santa Fe County Partners with Keep Santa Fe Beautiful and Incentivizes Residents to Pick Up Trash and Beautify Their Community

Santa Fe, NM- The Santa Fe County Public Works Department and the Sustainability Office, in collaboration with Keep Santa Fe Beautiful (KSFB) for the national Great American Clean Up, announce free trash drop-off for County residents with a valid solid waste permit at all County Convenience centers on Saturday, April 13th from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

The Great American Cleanup is the nation’s largest community improvement program, which takes place annually and strives to end littering, improve recycling and beautify communities across the United States.

Through this free trash drop off opportunity, County residents are encouraged to roll up their sleeves and clean up their neighborhoods, separating recyclables like cardboard, paper, and plastics in clear bags for drop-off at convenience centers. Trash should be in garbage bags; furniture and other items will not be accepted. Volunteerism is at the heart of this community improvement program and can transform our public spaces and community, removing pounds of litter for a cleaner future.

Register today, and KSFB will provide gloves and bags on Wednesday, April 10 (9am-6pm) at 1142 Siler Road Bldg. C. Santa Fe, NM 87507. Begin by picking a location near your home or near your heart and assemble a crew of friends, family, co-workers or neighbors to help you pick up trash.

When everyone pitches in to make a difference and put trash where it belongs, the community is paid back with a healthier environment, pride in one’s surroundings, and an undeniably beautiful New Mexican landscape. Through this collective event, everyone can look forward to cleaner and healthier surroundings.
