Santa Fe County Provides Sandbags and Sand for Flood Prevention

SANTA FE, NM – With large amounts of rainfall expected, Santa Fe County is making sandbags and sand available to assist residents in protecting their homes and property.

Empty Sandbag Distribution Locations:

• Pojoaque Fire Station 50 – 17919 U.S. Highway 84/285, Santa Fe
• La Cienega Fire Station 60 – 37 Rancho Viejo Blvd

Each household may be issued 15 sandbags, with an additional 10 available if needed, for a maximum of 25. 

Sand Pickup Locations:

• La Cienega Community Center – 136 Camino San Jose (CR 50-A)
La Cienega, NM 87507
• Across from Tesuque Fire Station 1 – Old Taos Highway, County Road 73

Sand is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The use of sandbags is a simple but effective way to prevent or reduce floodwater damage to property.
