Santa Fe County seeks Health Policy and Planning Commission members

SANTA FE, N.M., Aug. 18, 2026—Santa Fe County Community Services Department is seeking a volunteer member interested in serving on the Health Policy and Planning Commission (HPPC). Comprised of nine members, HPPC seeks passionate individuals of diverse backgrounds and representative of varied health care services. Members are being sought to fill one vacancy for District 2. The primary responsibility of the committee is to provide guidance and recommendations to the Community Services Department and the Board of County Commissioners on the provision of health care services to the County. Other duties include:

  • Research issues as assigned by the Board, providing recommendations if requested.
  • Propose updates to the Health Action Plan and assist the Community Services Department by providing input on health and programmatic issues.
  • Keep abreast of developments in health care on a local, state, and national level and provide information to the Board as requested.
  • Perform other duties pertaining to community input regarding healthcare needs of County residents as assigned or communicated by the Board.

HPPC was established by Resolution 2020-100 and all appointments shall be subject to confirmation by the Board of County Commissioners based on letters of interest and qualifications in the health field.
