Santa Fe County to Hold Public Hearing for 2025 CDBG Grant Application

Santa Fe, NM– Santa Fe County invites the public to attend the fourth hearing for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. Established under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, the CDBG Program supports local communities by funding essential facilities, promoting economic development, ensuring decent housing, and maintaining a suitable living environment.

The New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) anticipates distributing approximately $11 million in CDBG funds statewide through a competitive process.

A recent example of a successful CDBG project includes the Greater Glorieta Regional Well (GGRW), a $2.4 million project made possible through a partnership between the Greater Glorieta Community Regional Mutual Domestic Water Consumers and Sewage Works Association and Santa Fe County. This project constructed a new well to provide a sustainable water supply for 70 households.

Pre-project selection hearings in conjunction with the closeout of the GGRW project were held in June 2024, and one pre-project selection hearing was held June 24,2025. These public hearings have been held to identify and review potential projects for the County’s 2025 CDBG application, which is due to the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) by August 19, 2025.
