SANTA FE, N.M., Sept. 16, 2026—Santa Fe County is offering free household waste drop-off at any of the Santa Fe County convenience centers this Saturday, Sept. 19.

The program is available to Santa Fe County residents with a valid solid waste permit, available online through the County Solid Waste Permit webpage. Up to five cubic yards of household waste will be accepted per customer. Household waste means any solid waste garbage derived and discarded from dwelling units, hotels, motels, public and private campgrounds, picnic grounds, and day-use recreation areas.

All loads must be covered and/or secured. All garbage must be bagged. Children and pets must remain in the vehicle at all times. This program applies to household waste only, but the convenience centers remain open for normal business as well. More information about what items are accepted at the convenience centers is on our Convenience Center/Transfer Station webpage.
