The Health Policy and Planning Commission (HPPC) was established in 2002 and provides guidance and recommendations to the Community Services Department and the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) on the provision of health services in Santa Fe County.
The HPPC was active in the production of the Santa Fe County Health Action Plan and the establishment of health priorities, which was approved by the BCC. The HPPC also recommended approaches and funding for system changes to implement an Accountable Health Community in Santa Fe County, now known as CONNECT, which addresses the unmet, non-medical social needs of County residents.
Every significant program of the Community Services Department and the organizations it funds is regularly presented and discussed at HPPC meetings. Community profiles, demographic data, and health and social needs are also reviewed as part of the County’s ongoing analysis.
