March 31 El Rancho meeting will help residents connect to the new water system
SANTA FE, NM, March 25, 2026—Santa Fe County is hosting an urgent community meeting for El Rancho residents who need to quickly decide whether to connect to the Pojoaque Basin Regional Water System. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 31, at 6:00 p.m., at the El Rancho Community Center, located at 394 CR 84.
El Rancho area residents on 84B, and along CR 84 west of Evergreen Lane, need to inform Santa Fe County of their intent to connect to the new water system by April 2, if they wish to have the connection fund pay to connect their home to the system. This meeting will help with that process.
Santa Fe County and the Office of the State Engineer will be available to answer questions and assist homeowners with completing the paperwork necessary to connect to the system, and to answer questions about water rights and well numbers.
Other El Rancho landowners wishing to connect are also encouraged to attend.
Eligible residents are part of the Aamodt Settlement Agreement and live in the corridors of NM-502, NM-503, 285 from Pojoaque to Tesuque, and Bishop’s Lodge Road.
As the project expands across the region, Santa Fe County will continue to host community meetings, but all eligible residents should complete the well election process as soon as possible to ensure they are considered for inclusion in the service area.
Contact Santa Fe County Project Manager Scott Kaseman at 505-992-9887 or SKaseman@SantaFeCountyNM.gov if you have questions and to inform the County of your intent to connect.
Well election forms, along with instructions and information about the project, are on the Santa Fe County webpage at https://www.santafecountynm.gov/public-works/aamodt.
