Time Change Announcement: Ribbon Cutting Event for the Reopening of Tesuque Solid Waste Convenience Center

Tesuque, NM – Santa Fe County (County) and the Pueblo of Tesuque (Pueblo) have announced a modification in the schedule for the anticipated ribbon cutting event celebrating the official reopening of the Tesuque Solid Waste Convenience Center.

Originally slated for 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 15, 2023, the ribbon cutting ceremony will now commence at 2:00 p.m. on the same date located at 48-58 NM-592, Santa Fe, NM 87506. The event remains open to the media and the public, in commemorating this significant milestone.

County Commissioner Justin S. Greene, District 1, expressed, "The reopening of the Tesuque Convenience Center signifies the power of collaborative governance, addressing mutual concerns for our community."

Governor Milton Herrera of the Pueblo of Tesuque concurred, stating, "In addressing the health and safety needs of our communities, our ongoing collaboration with the County is pivotal, especially in handling challenges like solid waste that transcend boundaries."

Enhancements to the convenience center aimed at elevating the functionality and appearance of the convenience center. These upgrades demonstrate a commitment to providing a high-quality and efficient service to the community. The driving and convenience center surfaces have undergone paving improvements to ensure that visitors have a smoother and more enjoyable riding experience. In addition, the existing drainage infrastructure has undergone maintenance and cleaning designed to prevent any potential issues that may arise from blockages or malfunctions.

Brian K. Snyder, Director of the Public Works Department, emphasized, "The improvements made at the Tesuque Solid Waste Convenience Center not only reduce environmental impacts but also enhance the overall customer experience, particularly in adverse weather conditions."
