Residential Sprinkler Plan Submittal Guidelines:

  • 3 full sized sets of plans shall be submitted for review.
  • Cut sheets for all appurtenances shall be supplied for review.
  • A sufficient water supply shall be designated and detailed in the plan.
           

Alternative Fire Suppression System Plan Submittal Guidelines:

  • 3 full sized sets of plans shall be submitted for review.
  • Cut sheets for all appurtenances shall be supplied for review.
  • Applicable calculations shall be submitted with the plans.
  • Plans shall be designed and stamped by a NICET III/IV or a NM Certified Fire Protection Engineer.

 

Commercial Sprinkler Plan Submittal Guidelines:

  • 3 full sized sets of plans shall be submitted for review.
  • Cut sheets for all appurtenances shall be supplied for review.
  • A sufficient supply shall be designated and detailed in the plan.
  • Hydraulic Calculations shall be submitted for review.
  • Plans shall note the design area.
  • Commercial plans shall be stamped by a NICET III or IV and a NM Certified Engineer or a NM Certified Fire Protection Engineer only.

 

Fire Alarm Plan Submittal Guidelines:

  • 3 full sized sets of plans shall be submitted for review
  • Cut sheets for all appurtenances/devices shall be supplied with plans.
  • Plans shall include voltage drop calculations.
  • Plans shall include battery details and calculations.
  • Plans shall include system inputs and outputs matrix.
  • Fire Alarm plans shall be stamped by a NICET III or IV and a NM Certified Engineer or a NM Certified Fire Protection Engineer only.

Automatic Sprinkler system Inspections

-SFCFD Stamped Plans shall be present:

  • Both rough in and final inspections shall be conducted prior to a certificate of occupancy being released. At both the rough in and final inspection the Santa Fe County Prevention stamped set of plans shall be on site. If no plans are present, no inspection will take place. Final inspections will also require that the representative from the Installation Company be present.

 

Fire Alarm & Alternative Fire Protection Systems Inspections-

-SFCFD Stamped Plans shall be present:

  • Final inspections shall be conducted prior to a certificate of occupancy being released. At final inspections the Santa Fe County Fire Prevention stamped set of plans shall be on site and provided by the requesting party.If no plans are present, no inspection will take place.Fire Alarm and Alternative Fire Protection Systems final inspections will also require that the representative from the Installation Company be present. 

 

Final Inspections:

  • Fire Alarm Final Inspections will require that a “System of Record Completion”be provided by the Alarm Installation Company.  The monitoring service shall provide (via email) a detailed report of the test alarms and codes that were transmitted during the final.

 

  • Sprinkler system finals for both Residential and Commercial Systems will require that the installing contractor or representative provide a “Contractor's Material & Test Certificate for Above Ground Piping”.
