On 5-26-2008 at 7:02 PM the suspect was the passenger in the vehicle at the location.  Deputy Romero had prior knowledge  that ther was an active arrest warrant for the suspect.  A check with the New Mexico Crime Information Center revealed that 4-28-2008, Santa Fe County Magistrate Judge Sandra Miera isseud the warrant for the suspect's arrest.

Suspect:  Elias Griego, 31, Santa Fe

Charged:  DWI, Tail Lamps Required, Open Container

On 5-26-2008 at 9:52 PM the suspect was operating the vehicle at the location with a non-operational brake lamp.  The suspect was found to be under the influence of an intoxicating liquor and had a Breath Alcohol Content of .08 or greater.  The suspect was also found to be in possession of a 40 ounce bottle of Bude Light beer.


Case # 0208004417, Driving While Intoxicated, Careless Driving, Mandatory Proof Of Insurance. Date 5/25/08

Suspect: Miguel Villegas, Age 29

Charged: DWI, Careless, No Insurance

5/25/08 a Motor Vehicle Crash was reported to RECC that occurred on Calle Po A PI.  A security guard for the subdivision witnessed the crash and made contact with the suspect who was attempting to leave the scene.  When Deputies arrived they made contact with the suspect and who displayed signs of impairment.  The suspect was unable to perform SFST's, due to his high level of intoxication.  He was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital for a blood draw to determine his BAC, results are pending.  The suspect was arrested and transported to the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.

Location:  Big Tesuque Canyon Road, Santa Fe, NM

On 5/25/08 at approximately 2322 hours, deputies responded to the above location in reference to a death investigation.  Upon deputies arrival victim was found deceased in the back bedroom.    Victim's boyfriend located the victim and attempted CPR.  OMI was called to the scene and pronounced time of death.

Location: Interstate 25, Mile Marker 290 SB, Santa Fe, NM 

Suspect: Luis Yovani-Ortiz, Age 28

Charges: DWI, Open Container, Driver must be Licensed

Sunday, May 25, 2008, Deputy Markely was dispatched to interstate 25, mile marker 299, to look for a possible drunk driver, who was driving on a flat tire.  At mile marker 295, Deputy Markley noticed a White Ford Explorer on the shoulder of the highway with a blown tire.  The above suspect was contacted and displayed signs of impairment and admitting to drinking two beers.  The suspect also had an open container of "grolsch" beer.  SFST's were conducted several signs of impairment were noticed and the suspect was arrestted.  A breath test was conducted and the suspect had a Brac of .13,.14.  A check with the motor vehicle division was done and he did not have a driver's license, proper registration and insurance for the vehicle.  The suspect was transported to the Santa Fe Adult Detention Center.

Victim reported that sometime between February 2007 and May 2008 an unknown person(s) gained unauthorized forced entry into a storage shed on her property and stole a lawn mower, shredder and garden tools with a total estimated value of $500.00.  No suspect or witness information at this time.

On 05-24-08 at approximately 6:15 am the above listed was the driver of a motor vehicle crash at the above listed location.  Suspects driver licence was found to be revoked by the NM Dept. of Motor Vehicle Division.  Suspect was arrested at the scene and booked at the Santa Fe County Detention Center on the charge of driving while license is suspended or revoked.

Victim reported that between May 23, 2008 at 6:00 pm and May 24, 2008 at 3:00 pm  an unknown person(s) gained unauthorized entry into a Frito Lay Delivery truck through an unsecured door and stole $969.00 worth of misc. snack foods.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

21 year old victim reported that approximately 10 years ago he was inappropriately touched by a family member.  Further investigation into this matter is pending.

Suspect:  Ryan Mulcahy, age 18, Santa Fe, NM

Charged:  Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor

On 5/26/08 deputies were dispatched to the above address in reference to a loud party.  Upon arrival deputies made contact with the suspect who stated that he owned the house and was responsible for the party.  Suspect stated that he had a few friends over and that he had 2 beers.  He stated that there were several guests under the age of 18.  A male who was under 18 years of age told us that he was the owner of the residence and he was highly intoxicated.  Several open containers of beer were located inside and outside of the residence.  Suspect was then placed under arrest, transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.
