Sheriff's Deputy Cadets will be required to attend a 20-week live in academy through the NM Department of Public Safety (DPS). Lateral hires may be required to attend the Certification by waiver through DPS if necessary.
Out of State Lateral Hires will be required to attend NMDPS (80 hours of academy accredited training) Certification by Waiver Class. Certification by Waiver DPS
