Suspect: James Black, 57, Santa Fe, NM

Charges: Criminal Damage to Property, Aggravated DWI, Careless Driving

On Saturday, October 15, 2016 at approximately 3:18am, Deputies responded to location in reference to a suspicious person. Suspect was at a residence in the area asking for help and damaged more than $1000 in property at the residence. Suspect advised he had been involved in a motor vehicle crash. Suspect had gone off of the road and crashed his vehicle. Suspect showed signs of impairment and agreed to submit to the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Suspect showed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest for DWI. Suspect was read the New Mexico Implied Consent Advisory and agreed to submit to testing. Suspect provided a blood sample and was treated for non-life threatening injuries at the Christus St. Vincent Hospital. Suspect was transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility without incident. No one received any life threatening injuries as a result of this incident.

Deputies were dispatched in reference to a Larceny. Upon arrival it was determined an undisclosed amount of US Currency was stolen from the location between October 13, 2016 and October 14, 2016 at 7:30 a.m.  Video surveillance is being reviewed suspects are pending.  Case is under investigation.

On October 14, 2016, Deputies were dispatched in reference to a larceny.  Upon arrival it was determined a female only identified as "Suzanne" was seen on video surveillance taking several pieces of jewelry from business.  Case is under investigation.

Location: Ojo de la Vaca walking trail parking area

Taken: Hiking Back Pack, Quick Draw Climbing equipment, Climbing Rope

Value:$700.00

 Victim stated between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on the above date his vehicle was burglarized on Ojo de la Vaca waling trail parking area. Above Victim parked his vehicle in the area to go rock climbing. When above victim returned to his vehicle he found his driver side window broken and his driver door damaged. Above victim stated above items were taken from the back seat of his vehicle. Victim left the area prior to calling law enforcement. There are not suspects or witnesses at this time.

On today's date, deputies contacted the victim who advised that an unknown person(s) obtained his business credit card information which was used to make multiple purchases at different locations in Los Luna's.  The victim advised that his bank flagged the purchases which he was made aware of.  Suspect information is pending.


0216016172/ Larceny/ 10/13/16

Location: Browncastle Ranch- Santa Fe

Stolen: 1 black Turner Mountain Bike, 1 blue Turner Mountain Bike, 1 Specialized Mountain Bike.

Value: $14,000 (for all three bikes)

On 10/13/16 the two victims reported their mountain bikes stolen from the above location. The theft occurred between 10/12/16 at 8:00pm and 10/13/16 at 7:30am. The two Turner Mountain Bikes were secured by a cable lock. The Specialized Mountain Bike was secured on a bike rack. Suspects are pending in this matter.

Between October 1, 2016 and October 12, 2016 at 1:30 pm, unknown subjects entered the above residence and took the above items.  Value of items is $535. Case is under investigation.

Between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm unknown suspects forced entry into the above residence and took the above listed items. Value of items taken is $38,000.  Case is under investigation.

Between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm this date, unknown suspects shot at the above residence causing damage to a wall.  Case is under investigation.


0216016090 / Aggravated battery with a deadly weapon / 10-11-16

Location: Santa Fe County Jail

Arrested: Steven Allen, 48-year-old male from Albuquerque N.M.

On 10-11-16 a fight broke out in the C-100 Pod of the jail.  An investigation revealed Mr. Allen stabbed another inmate with a sharpened wooden object in the cheek.  Mr. Allen was booked on the above charge.
