Location: Us Highway 285 near Lamy New Mexico

On 10-16-15 at about 12:00AM the victim was parked on the shoulder of the highway sleeping when he was approached by two males in a dark in color truck.  They asked for directions and the victims leaned out his window with his Garmin Nuvi GPS to give them directions.  One of the males grabbed the GPS out of the victim's hand and they fled the area in the dark in color truck.

Location: 3800 Madison Road (Riverside MHP)

Arrested: Samuel Ortiz 54 yoa male Santa Fe

Deputies were dispatched in reference to an aggravated battery. Investigation revealed the suspect had battered the victim by hitting with him with a rock on the back of his head causing minor injuries. Suspect was arrested and booked into the Santa Fe County Jail without incident.

Items taken- Currency

On this date, deputy was dispatched to the above location. Upon his arrival and investigation it was determined that between October 14, 2015 at 630 p.m. and October 15, 2015 at 12 p.m. subjects unlawfully entered his home and took the above items.  Case is under investigation.

On this date Deputy was dispatched to the above address.  Upon making contact with vicitm, it was determined that subjects had obtained her debit card and used it without her permission .  The amount charged was $5000.00.   Case is under investigation.


0215016237, DWI, CARELESS DRIVING AND SUSPENDED DRIVER’S LICENSE, 10.14.15

Deputy Assigned: Vince Ontiveros

Commander Entering: Lt. W. Pacheco

Location: Interstate 25 Mile Marker 297

Arrested: Stephanie Burden, age 47

Deputies responded to the above location in regards to a single vehicle motor vehicle crash.  Deputies arrived and spoke with the driver of the vehicle and could smell of an intoxicating beverage coming from her breath.  The driver was transported to Christus St. Vincent's hospital, due to being involved in the crash.  A legal blood draw was conducted at the hosiptal. The above suspect was released from the hospital and transported to ADC on the above charges.

Location: 28 Camino Justicia, (ADC)

Arrested: Benny C. Mendiola, age 48

Deputies were sent to ADC to serve a warrant out of Bernalillo County.  Deputies arrived and served the warrant on the above suspect.  The warrant was for failure to appear in court. The suspect was re-booked into jail on the warrant.

Location: 28 Camino Justicia (ADC)

Arrested: Edwin Madrid, age 19

Deputies were dispatched to the adult detention center to serve an arrest warrant.  When the deputy arrived they served the above suspect with a warrant out of Distrct Court.  The warrant was for failure to comply with court orders.  The suspect was re-booked on the warrant.

Location: US 84/285, Mile Marker 175

Arrested: Isaiah S. Archuleta, age 30

Deputies conducted a traffic stop at the above location.  Deputies learned the driver had an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Rio Arriba County Magistrate court.  The warrant was for failure to appear at court. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Santa Fe County jail.

Location: 100 block of Bishop Lamy Road

Deputies reponded to the above location in regards to a theft of identity.  Deputies learned an unknown person used the victims identity to open a credit card.  Case is still under investigation.  No suspects have been identified in this case.

On this date, Deputy was dispatched to the above area.  Upon his arrival, it was determined that subjects forced entry into the residence sometime between October 9th at 3p.m. and October 14 at 5 a.m. Once inside, subjects took the above listed items.  Case is under investigation.
