On Friday, February 27, 2015 at 12:17 PM the suspect was found to be in possession of a clear, plastic bag containing a brown in color, tar like substance.  A field test of the subtance tested positive for heroin.

Thursday, February 26th Detectives with the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant on a residence within Santa Fe City.  The search warrant was in regards to a male individual (Schaffer) who was producing false documents to include checks and debit/credit cards.  The search warrant was served without incident and the above listed arrested and interviewed.  Evidence was collected and additional charges are pending. 


Case #0215002917, Death Investigation

Deceased: Female, 85, Santa Fe, NM

On Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 5:24 PM, Deputies responded to location in reference to an unresponsive female. Caretaker had a DNR order for the deceased. Deceased had an extensive medical history. OMI was notified and arrived at the scene. There were no signs of foul play and next of kin was on scene.

Victim: Female, 55, Santa Fe, NM

Charges: Burglary (Auto), Larceny, Criminal Damage to Property

On Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 5:46 PM, Deputies responded to location in reference to Burglary of two automobiles. Victim advised that sometime between 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM, an unidentified suspect(s) entered two unlocked vehicles on the property and opened the hoods of both vehicles. Unknown suspect(s) removed car parts from the vehicles and damaged both vehicles when the car parts were removed.

On Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 2:05 PM, Deputies responded to location in reference to a combative inmate. Suspect after being booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility battered three corrections officers. None of the corrections officers received any life threatening injuries. Suspect was rebooked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility without incident.

Stolen: Electronics, various clothing

  On Thursday February 26, 2015 Santa Fe County Sheriff's Deputies responded to Cities of Gold Road in reference to a reported burglary. Deputies arrived and made contact with the victim who stated between February 25, 2015 at 5:00pm and February 26 at 8:00 am unknown  suspect(s) gained unlawful entry into the victim's vehicle. Once inside the vehicle, suspect(s) took an electronic device and various clothing from within his vehicle. This case remains under investigation. 


SFCSO Case #0215002828/ Battery Against a Household Member/ 02-24-2015

Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at the above location betweem a mother and son (Juvenile). The arguement escalated and the suspect (Juvenile) grabbed the victims face and pushed her causing her to fall and hit her head. The juvenile was incarcerated at  the santa Fe County Youth Facility on the above stated charge.

On Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 5:01 PM, Deputies responded to location in reference to Theft of identity. Sometime between December 26, 2014 and February 23, 2015 an unknown suspect(s) used the victim's personal information to obtain a loan for less than $250. Vctim has recently received a bill in the mail for the loan. Victim does not know how the suspect(s) could have obtained her information.


Case #0215002811, Breaking and Entering

Location: 100 Black of State Road 344, Edgewood, NM

On Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 2:13 PM, Deputies responded to location in reference to Breaking and Entering. Caretaker of the residence advised that an unknown suspect(s) pryed open a door to the residence causing damage to the door. Suspect(s) then entered the residence and exited through another door. No items inside the residence were taken or moved. One of the doors to the residece was left open and noticed by the caretake. Nothing else was damaged.

Victim:  Female, 45, Santa Fe, NM

On Thursday, February 19, 2015 the victim filed her federal tax return.  On Monday, February 23, 2015 the victim was notified by her tax preparer that the return could not be file as a return had already been filed utilizing her Social Secrity Account Number.
