Location- US 84/285 (Arroyo Seco)

On 11/24/24, deputies were dispatched to a self storage facility on US 84/285 in reference to multiple units being burlgarized. The suspect and vehicle were captured on video surveillance, and possible DNA evidence was left behind. The investigation is still ongoing.

Location: 600-BLK S. McCurdy Rd

Arrested: Justin Chavez 36 YOM

Contact with the subject was made during a traffic stop. The subject had a confirmed arrest warrant out of Rio Arriba, for failure to appear with the original charge of possession of a controlled substance x3. The subject was arrested and booked into Santa Fe ADC. 

Case 2024006262/ Battery against a household member/11-24-24

Location: NM 14/ Camino Justicia 

Arrested: Edwin Del Cid Chamale 35 YOM

Deputies were dispatched to the location regarding a fight in progress. Through investigation, deputies learned the suspect and victim were in a relationship and the suspect had battered his significant other. The suspect was arrested, transported, and booked into Santa Fe ADC.

Case#2024006259/Burglary, Criminal Damage to Property, and Warrant Service/11-23-24

Location: Equestrian, Santa Fe County,NM

Arrested: Yazmin Garcia-Guerrero, 33YOF, Albuquerque, NM

Deputies were dispatched to the location in reference to a burglary in progress. While on scene, deputies located the suspect inside the residence. It was learned that she gained access by breaking the window to the front door. While inside the residence, the suspect began to damage items, causing about $5,000 in damages. It was learned the suspect had a warrant for a past burglary at the same location. The suspect was transported and booked accordingly without incident.

Case#2024006258/Larceny ( >$500 but <$2,500)/11-23-24

Assigned: A Gallardo

Entering: Sgt. C Valencia

Location: NM 475, Santa Fe, NM

Stolen: Arbor Snowboard and Bindings ($700)

Deputies were dispatched to the location in reference to a larceny. During the investigation, it was learned the victim placed his snowboard on the storage racks, and when he came back to retrieve it, it was gone. No further information.

Location: NM 41 MM 51, Santa Fe, NM

Arrested: Emilio Aragon, 21YOM, Santa Fe, NM

Deputies conducted a traffic stop at the location for speeding. During the stop it was learned the driver had a warrant for his arrest. The driver was placed under arrest, transported, and booked accordingly without incident. Original Charge for warrant: Speeding. 

Case#2024006242/Fraud/11-22-24

Location: Emmedio Place, Santa Fe, NM

Victim: 66YOM, Santa Fe, NM

Deputies were dispatched to the location in reference to a fraud. During the investigation, it was learned that Apple contacted the victim via email. The victim contacted the telephone number provided, and the suspect was instructed to pay a bill by withdrawing $9,000 and depositing it into a Bitcoin machine. The victim soon realized this was a scam and contacted the Sheriff's Office.

Case#2024006247/Warrant Service and Possession of a Controlled Substance/ 11-22-24

Entering: Sgt. C Valencia

Location: 28 Camino Justicia, Santa Fe, NM

Arrested: Jaunito Chavez, 37YOM, Espanola, NM

Deputies conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, it was learned that the driver had a warrant for his arrest. The subject was placed under arrest and transported to the jail. While being processed into the jail, a white powdery substance believed to be narcotics was located on the subjects person. The subject was charged and booked accordingly.

Deputies responded to a call for service in reference to a welfare check.  During the course of their investigation, it was learned that the above subject had an active arrest warrant.  He was placed under arrest and booked into the SFCADF.

Between Oct 25-Nov 5 an unknown subject entered a vehicle and took five chainsaws. Case is under investigation.
