Victim: Male      Age: 71       Madrid,NM

Victim was found by friends to be not breathing. Medical staff attempted to revive vicitm but was unsuccessful. Victim had history of health problems. No signs of foul play was observed. OMI arrived on scene and pronounced time of death.

Suspect: Joseph Gauthier     Age: 73     Santa Fe,NM

Deputies responded to location in reference to a civil dispute, during the time Deputies were attempting to defuse the situation, the suspect began to get angry and closed distance with Deputies. During this time, the suspect was stating"What are you going to do about this"  Suspect when near the Deputies raised his hands in an aggressive manner. Suspect was then arrested and was taken to jail where he was charged accordingly.

Suspect: Juan Carlos Garcia Lopez    Age: 28     Los Lunas,NM

Deputy was alerted of a vehicle traveling on the roadway in a reckless manner. Deputy encountered the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. Driver upon contact displayed signs of impairment and was administered sobriety tests. Driver showed signs of impairment and was arrested. Subject submitted to chemical testing with the results being .16, .15 Subject was taken to jail.

Suspect: Robert Romero      Age: 30      Santa Fe,NM

Victim reported to Deputy that the suspect spit in her face and threatened to cut off her head while making a hand motion. Suspect was located close to the location of incident and was arrested.

Location: New Mexico 599 Mile Marker 3, Santa Fe, NM

Arrested: Matias Martinez, 29 yoa male, Albuquerque, NM

Charges: Aggravated DWI, Possession of Controlled Substance to wit: Heroin, Possession of Drug Parapernalia, and Roadways laned for Traffic

Deputy observed a White in color Chevy Pick-up at the above location failing to maintain its lane of travel.  A traffic stop was conducted and upon contact with the driver there were signs of impairment.  SFST's were adminstered and driver showed signs of impairment.  Driver was arrested where he was read the New Mexico Implied Consent Advisory.  Driver refused testing.  While deputies were conducting an inventory of suspects vehicle incident to arrest, a brown powdery substance was found along with several syringes and a spoon.  Suspect was booked and charged accordingly without further incident.

Deputies were dispatched to the above location in reference to a male unconcious, and not breathing. Victim had several medical conditions and no signs of foul play were located at the scene.

Victim: 75 yoa female

Location: Calle Valencia (Valencia area)

Deputies were dispatched to above location, where the victim was located unconcious,not breathing and cold to the touch. Deputies found no signs of foul play and the next of kin had been notified.


Case# 0214004634 Aggravated Assault Against a Household Member

Location:  18300 Block, US Hwy 84/285, Espanola, NM

Victim #1:  Female, 22, Espanola, NM

Victim #2:  Male, 5, Espanola, NM

Suspect:  Male, 24, Espanola, NM

On Friday, March 28, 2014 at 12:09 AM the suspect forced entry into a residence at the location by shattering the living room window.  Once entry was gained he pointed a 9 MM handgun at Victim #1 and pulled the trigger.  The gun failed to fire.  The suspect then grabbed Victim #1 and forced her to exit the residence.  She picked up Victim #2 who was on a bed.  Once outside the residence the suspect pointed the gun at Victim #1 two more times and pulled the trigger.  Each time she was holding Victim #2 and again the gun failed to fire.  Victim #1 sustained a minor laceration to a finger and Victim #2 was uninjured.  The suspect fled the scene.

Location: 100 Block of East Gutierrez, Pojoaque, NM  (Butterfly Springs Mobile Home Park)

Damaged: Front Door total estimated value of damage $800.00

Victim reports at the above location between the hours of 9:15a.m. and 5:44p.m. on today's date unknown person(s) gained unlawful forced entry.  Entry was gained through the front door by prying it open.  Once inside the residence it was ransacked and nothing was reported missing.  Case still pending further investigation. 


Case#0214004612 Agg. Burglary 03-27-14

Location: East Guttierrez St. (Pojoaque area)

Items taken: Playstation Games, 3 laptop computers,gift and credit cards, 2 hibard knives, misc. clothing.

On March 27,2014 victim reported between 9:15 am 3:00 pm unknown persons broke a window to the residence and gained entry. Once inside suspects ransacked the residence and stole numerous items.  Suspect than used one of the stolen credit cards at a gas station in the Espanola Area. Suspect identification is pending further investigation.
