Victim: 48 YOA

Deputies responded to a call for service in reference to identity theft.  The victim reported that he has been receiving letters indicating he owes approximately $200 to Tulalip Casino; approximately $100 to Tulalip Bingo; and approximately $200 to Noo-Kayate Gaming. The victim claims he has never gambled with those affiliates. The victim received an email from Turbo Tax in August, stating his social securty number and phone may have been compromised though a possible hack.


Case #2025000620 // Trafficking/Possession a Controlled Substance, Warrant Service - 2/1/2025

Arrested: David Islas (25 YO)

Location: Airport Rd. 

Deputy conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver who had a warrant from the U.S. Marshals. The warrant was for a probation violation for smuggling aliens and conspiracy to transport aliens. Upon inventory of the vehicle, narcotics were located. A search warrant was conducted on the vehicle and fentanyl and cocaine were collected, as well as items used for trafficking narcotics. Subject was charged and rebooked at the jail. 


2025000630 / Embezzlement of a motor vehicle / 02-02-2025

Location: Santo Dr Cerrillos, NM 

Vehicle: Silver 2016 Jeep Patriot bearing NM - BMNL46

Victim reported she allowed suspect male to use her vehicle for a short run. A day has passed and vehicle still not returned. She wished to enter vehicle as stolen. Case is under investigation.

Location: Corrales Trl Santa Fe, NM

Decedent: 34 YOM

Deputy dispatched to location in reference to an unresposive male. Once on scene it was learned the decedent was beyond help. No signs of foul play observed or suspected. 


Case #2025000628 // Missing Person - 2/1/2025

Missing: Jonathan Romero (25 YO) 

Location: Pojoaque 

Deputies were dispatched to the location in reference to a welfare check. Upon arrival, investigation determined the above subject had left the location at approximately 6:00PM as seen on camera on Saturday, February 1st, 2025 and not returned home. Subject is diagnosed with schizophrenia, bi-polar, manic depression and a traumatic brain injury. Subject is believed to be off of his medications prescribed to him for the mentioned issues. Subejct can be violent when off of his meds. Subjects whereabouts are currently unknown.

Deputy arrested subject for DUI and later learned he had two active warrants for his arrest. This warrant was served to subject and he was booked into jail. Warrant was issued out of Santa Fe Municipal Court for failure to appear on original charge of Driving while intoxicated, Open container and No driver's license.

Deputy arrested subject for DUI and later learned he had two active warrants for his arrest. This warrant was served to subject and he was booked into jail. Warrant was issued out of Santa Fe Magistrate Court for failure to appear on original charge of Driving while license revoked and No proof of insurance. 


2025000621 / DUI, Carless driving, Failure to obey traffic signals, No driver’s license, Open container, Failure to yield to emergency vehicles / 02-01-2025

Location: Calle Atajo / Rufina St Santa Fe, NM 

Arrested: Ramos-Matias, Pedro 55YOM

Deputy observed vehicle almost lose control near a construction crew. Suspect failed to stop at a red light shortly after. A traffic stop was conducted - suspect turned on his hazard lights and continued to drive - failing to pull over immediately. During contact with the driver signs of impairment were observed. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered where signs of impairement were observed. Alcoholic beverages were later located inside the vehicle. Suspect did not have current driver's license to operate a motor vehicle. Breath results were .11,.11. Subject was charged and booked into Santa Fe County Jail.
