On Monday, July 9, 2012 at 11:25 PM the suspect was operating the vehicle north at the location and was unable to maintain a single lane of travel. The suspect was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and submitted toi a Blood Test. The results of this test are pending. The suspect was found to be in possession of a green, leafy, plant material suspected of being marrijuana and a prescription medication without a prescription. The suspect was also found to be in possession of a plastic straw which contained residue suspected of being the prescription medication. The suspected marijuana and prescription medication will be sent to the Department of Public Safety Forensic Laboratory for analysis.

On 7/9/12 deputy was dispatched to the above location in reference to a burglary. Victim stated that between the hours of 0715 and 1440 unknown persons gained entry into her residence through a front window which was unlocked. Victim stated that the suspects took misc. costume jewelry and misc. silver jewelry. Victim stated that family members called her and had seen a vehicle in her driveway. Estimated value of items taken is $3,800.00.

Location: residence off of Rincon Escondido, Espanola, NM (off of SFC 88)
On 7/9/12 victim advised some time between 11:00am and 4:00pm, someone kicked in the front door to her residence. Victim stated that the suspects stole a yellow jewelry box, a black safe and miscellaneous prescription medication. Victim stated that when the suspects kicked the front door in they damaged the wall and also picture frames fell from the wall. Estimated value of the items taken is $800.00. Estimated damage amount to the $275.00.

On the above victim reported that some time between 1:30pm and 2:00pm she had placed her money in her safe. The suspects watched the victim put the cash in her safe. The victim went to the restroom and when she returned the debit card and the cash were gone. When making this report the victim also noticed the trampoline had been taken from the front yard. It is unknown when the tranpoline was stolen from the above property. The debit card was used a a gas station for gas and at the Valley Superette in Espanola. Estimated value of the items taken is $700.00.

On 7-9-12 deputy was dispatched to the above address. Victim stated that she received a phone call from a male claiming that he was her cousin and that he was on his way to visit them from Mexico. Two hours later she received another call from the cousin telling her that he was involved in a crash and needed money to pay the other party involved or police would be called. The amount asked for was fifteen hundred dollars. The victim sent the money to a Walmart in Mexcio.
Two hours later she received another call from the same male asking for three thousand dollars as a child was injured in the crash and he needed to pay for her to have surgery. Victim stated that she then called family members and confirmed that the cousin was safe at his home in Mexico and had not been involved in any crash. Victim only sent the first amount of $1500.00.

On 07-09-2012 at approximately 1455-hours/ 2:55pm, a traffic stop was conducted on a red Mazda 3 which was reported to be a stolen motor vehicle reported out of the City of Santa Fe. The above individual was a passenger in the car. Two active bench warrants were located for Penny Flores. One warrant was issued out of the First Judicial District Court, charging her with Unlawful Taking of a Mortor Vehicle, Receiving or Transferring a Stolen Vehicle, Conspiracy, Possession of Drug Paraphenalia, and Concealing Identity. The other warrant was issued out of the Sandoval County Magistrate Court, charging her with Failing to Appear as ordered by the court. Penny Flores was booked into the Santa Fe County Jail accordingly.

Victim reported on yesterday's date, Sunday July 08, 2012 between the times of 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm, unknown persons stole the above stated items from the victim's front yard. No suspects have been identified or located in regards to this matter. This case is currenty under investigation.

On Monday, July 9, 2012 at 12:03 AM Driver #1 was operating Vehicle #1 north at the location in the right lane. Driver #2 was operatring Vehicle #2 north at the location, in the right lane, directly in front of Vehicle #1: For reason(s) unknown Driver #1 failed to observe Vehicle #2. As a result the front bumper of Vehicle #1 struck the rear bumper of Vehicle #2. Both vehicles then left the roadway on the right side with Vehicle #1 rolling 1/2 time, coming to rest on its roof. Driver #1, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe head trauma. Alcohol appears to be a factor on the part of Driver #1. Driver #2 and her adult passenger were wearing seat belts. The male child was properly restrained in a car seat. All of the occupants of Vehicle #2 were transported to Christus Saint Vincent Regional Medical Center and released. Only the right rear passenger sustained a minor ankle injury.

On 7-7-12 contact was made with an April Romero at a traffic stop at the above stated location. Ms. Romero was found to be in possession of Marijuana and Crack Cocaine. She was arrested and booked accordingly at the Santa Fe County Jail.
