Suspect #2:  Dana K. Itule, 24, Santa Fe, NM

Charged:  Possession of a Controlled Substance, to wit:  Heroin

On 3-3-2010 at 11:52 PM Suspect #1 was operating the vehicle east at the location and failed to stop for a posted stop sign.  Suspect #1 was found to be under the influence of an intoxicating liquor and refused to submit to a Breathalyzer Test.  A check with the National Crime Information Center revealed that Suspect #1 has three prior DWI offenses.  A check with the New Mexico Department of Motor Vehicles revealed that Supect #1's New Mexico driver's license is suspended.  A check with the New Mexico Crime Information Center revealed that there was an active arrest warrant issued by the Santa Fe County Magistrate Court for Suspect #1's arrest for Failure to Pay Fines.  There was an open minature bottle of Canadian Mist and another open minature bottle of Tequilla in the vehicle.  A Search Warrant was obtained and a Blood Alcohol Test was obtained from Suspect #1.  Suspect #2 was found to be in possession of a black tar like substance suspected of being heroin.  The vehicle was seized pursuant to the Santa Fe County DWI Vehicle Forfieture Ordinance.

Victim reports that on 2/15/10 a scaffolding ladder was taken from the propertys garage which is under constuction, then on 3/1/10 several tools were taken from the same garage.  Case is under investigation.

On 03-03-10 the President of the Encantado Resort reported that an ex-employee had forged a check for the amount of $840.00 and cashed it at the Los Alamos National Bank.


0210001730 Burglary 03-03-10

Location Of Incident: Casa Rufina Apts. / Rufina Rd.

Sometime between 03-02-10 5:00 pm and 03-03-10 10:30 am someone forced entry to the victim's garage and stole a leatherman tool, some CDs and some clothing. Entry was gained by forcing open the garage door with some kind of pry tool.


0210001711 Unlawful Taking Of A Motor Vehicle 03-03-10

Sometime between 03-02-10 11:30 pm and 03-03-10 6:00 am someone stole the victim's 2005 Cadillac Escalade from the above location. The vehicle was white in color with tinted windows.

Sometime between 03-02-10 10:00 pm and 03-03-10 07:00 am someone unlawfully gained entry to the  victim's vehicle and stole a laptop computer and speakers. The victim claims that a family member had seen five subjects running from the area last night at approximately 10:30 pm.


0210001710 / DWI / 3-2-10

Arrested: Willie Lopez - age 31, Santa Fe, NM

On 3/2/10, at about 10:39pm, the above subject was involved in a motor vehicle crash and then fled the scene. He was later located and he admitted to driving the vehicle. He exhibited signs of impairment and was placed under arrest. A check of his driving history showed he had a revoked license and had several prior DWI's. The above subject refused to submit to a breath test and he was taken to St. Vincen'ts Hospital for a blood draw. He was subsequently booked into ADC.


0210001707 Death Investigation

Location: Baja Waldo Road, Santa Fe NM

 On this date at about 8:06pm, I responded to 118 Baja Waldo Road in reference to a death investigation. Upon my arrival I met with paramedics who advised of a 79 year old female who they conducted CPR on but were unable to revive her. Female suffered for several preexisting medical conditions and there was no signs foul play. OMI Launi Berger responded and death appears to be from natural causes.

Victim:  Detention Officer Phillip Martinez, 26, Santa Fe, NM

Suspect:  David Valdez, 22, Santa Fe, NM

Charged:  Battery Upon a Peace Officer

On 3-2-2010, the Victim was escorting the Suspect from one area to another at the location.  For reason(s) unknown, during this escort, the Suspect struck the Victim in the facial area with a closed fist causing contusions.

Jacqueline Tapia was arrested for an outstanding Bench Warrant after being stopped for speeding. She was booked without incident.
