Arrested: Randy Dietsch, age 53

On Friday, May 1, 2009 at 9:53 am, victim reported that while travelling Northbound in his Peterbilt truck with belly dump trailer on Interstate 25 on La Bajada Hill, he had the driver of a white Ford van point at him what he perceived to be a semi automatic pistol. He stated that he was in fact in fear for his life. Victim went on to report that the driver of the white Ford van had stopped at Mile Post 273. Deputies made contact with the driver of the Ford Van, Mr Randy Dietsch. Deputies asked him if he had encountered a truck driver earlier, to which he said yes, that the belly dump trailer had nearly run him off the road, so he pointedhis finger at the driver of the truck and then pulled out a plastic replica pistol, in what he described as an attempt to scare off the truck driver. Mr Dietsch was placed under arrest and transported him to Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center where he was charged and booked.

On 4/30/09 at above location unknown suspect(s) kicked in the front door to gain entry into the residence.  Suspect(s) took a Cannon Digital Camera, Nikon Digital Camera, 4 Obama campaign pins, misc. jewelry, 2 misc. keys, and a 47" Panasonic TV.  Estimated amount taken is $4600.00.  Estimated damage to the doors are $6000.00.

Charged:  Battery against a household member

On 4/30/09 deputies responded to above location.  Suspect was located and was intoxicated.  Suspect stated he and victim fought due to victim driving his vehicle while she was intoxicated.  Suspect stated victim struck him so he struck her back, in the head.  Suspect was arrested, transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.

On 4-30-2009 at 6:43 AM the suspect was operating the vehicle north at the location at 83 miles per hour in a posted 55 mile per hour speed zone.  A check with the New Mexico Crime Information Center revealed that on 2-19-2009 Taos County Magistrate Court Judge Ernest Ortega issued a warrant for the suspect's arrest for Failure to Appear.

Victim reported that on 4-29-2009 between the hours of 12;00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. an unknown person(s) broke the windows on his 1985 Porche 944 as it was parked in his driveway.  The estimated damage is $1,500.  No suspect or witness information is available at this time.

On 4/29/09 Victim dialed 911 advising that she had been assaulted by her aunt.  Upon deputy arrival contact was made with suspect who admitted to slapping victim because she was not listening to her.  Suspect also stated she unplugged the telephone when victim was calling 911.  Suspect was arrested, transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.

On above date victim reported that her guest houses were broken into between 4/23/09 at 1630 hours and 4/28/09 at 1500 hours.  Victim stated the doors appeared tobe kicked in and nothing appeared to have been taken.  Victim stated that she arrived at the guesthouse and found front door hanging by one door hinge.  Estimated damage amount is about $1000.00.

 On the above date the victim called our agency to report a burglary at his residence that occured on 04-26-09 between the hours of 2:00AM and 10:00AM. Entry was gained through an unlocked bedroom window. Taken was his wallet with several credit cards and $900.00 in cash.

On teh above date, the above named officer conducted a traffic stop on the defendant for speeding.  Upon making contact witht he defendant, he displayed signs of impairment.  Defendant failed field tests and was arrested.  A check of his driver's status showed that he had a revoked driver's license.  Defendant had a .18 BrAC and was transported and booked accordingly at the adult detention center.
