Location: Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility

Arrested: Michael Maestas, 40 YOA male, Las Vegas NM

Deputies were dispatched to the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility (ADF) in reference to an inmate located with a homemade weapon in the facility. ADF Guards located the weapon upon conducting a cell change. The cell was occupied by the suspect only. The suspect was rebooked into ADF accordingly.


Case#2024000329/Breaking and Entering/Criminal Trespass/1-17-24

Assigned: M Sanchez

Entering: Sgt. C Valencia

Location: NM 76, Santa Fe, NM

Arrested: Harihar Khalsa, 59YOF, Santa Fe, NM

Deputies were dispatched in reference to criminal trespass. Upon arrival, deputies located an individual inside a bank-owned home. Deputies placed the above subject under arrest, transported, and booked her accordingly without incident. The subject had previously been advised to stay off the property. 


Case #2024000325 / Aggravated Battery Against a Household Member - 1/17/2024

Deputy Assigned: M. Olivas

Commander Entering: Cpl. A. Hancock 

Location: Los Tapias Ln. 

Arrested: Daryl Morales (25 YO)

Deputies were dispatched to Presbyterian Hospital due to a victim with a stab wound. Victim advised he had been stabbed by his son. An arrest warrant was drafted for the suspect, and he was later apprehended at the residence. 


Case#2024000317/Warrant Arrest/1-16-24

Handling Deputy: J. Barron

Entering Commander: Corporal D. Martinez

Address: U.S. 84/285-183 mile marker

Arrestee: Antonio Gallegos 48YOM

Deputies were dispatched to a report of a rollover crash. Upon contact with the driver, Mr. Gallegos, it was discovered that he had a valid warrant for his arrest. Mr. Gallegos was placed under arrest and would later be transported to the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center for incarceration. 


Case#2024000316/Possession of a Controlled Substance/1-16-24

Handling Deputy: J. Barron

Entering Commander: Corporal D. Martinez

Address: U.S. 84/285-183 mile marker

Arrestee: Antonio Gallegos 48YOM

Deputies were dispatched to a report of a rollover. Upon contact with the driver, it was discovered that he had a valid warrant for his arrest. Mr. Gallegos was placed under arrest and while conducting a search incident to arrest, suspected narcotics were found on his person. Mr. Gallegos was transported to a hospital for medical clearence and later to the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center for incarceration.  


Case 2024000314 / Missing Person (Juvenile) / 01/16/24

Deputy Assigned: A. Gallardo

Commander Entering: Sgt. V. Baca

Location: Demecio Road (Santa Fe County)

Missing: Chantae Carrillo (14 YOF)

Deputies responded to a call for service in reference to a missing juvenile. The parent advised that the juvenile left the residence on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at approximately 10:00 a.m. The juvenile is approximately 5'3"; 130 lbs.; brown hair; brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black jacket with red pajama pants.      


Case #2024000285 / MISSING PERSON (JUVENILE) - 1/15/2024

Location: Camino Capilla Vieja (La Cienega) 

Missing: Frank Mares III (16 YO) 

Deputies were dispatched to the residence for a missing juvenile. 16 YO Frank Mares III was said to be missing since January 11, 2024. Male is approximately 5'8", 130lbs, last seen wearing black pants, a white shirt, and an a flannel jacket. Unknown where his whereabouts could be at this time. 


Case #2024000284 / Unattended Death - 1/15/2024

Assigned: Sgt. E. Webb

Entering Commander: Cpl. A. Hancock 

Location: Calle Suzanna 

Deceased: Fidel Garcia (85 YO) 

Deputes were dispatched to the residence due to a male who was unconscious and not breathing. EMS performed life-saving measures but were unable to revive the male. Investigation revealed the male suffered from various medical conditions. There were no signs of foul play. 


Case 2024000279 / Driving Under the Influence / 01/15/24

Deputy Assigned: J. Barron

Location: Conchas Place (Santa Fe County)

Arrested: Noah Caufield (27 YOM)

Deputies were dispatched to a welfare check on a male that exited a vehicle and laid on the ground. Upon locating this male, he stated he drove a vehicle to this location and displayed signs of impairment. Standard Field Sobriety Tests were administered, and it was determned the driver was under the influence of an intoxicating liquor and/ or a narcotic. Inside the vehicle were several empty liquor containers. The subject was placed in custody and refused to submit to a chemical test. He was booked into the SFCADC.


Case#2024000278/Extortion/1-15-24

Handling Deputy: A. Gallardo

Address: Peak Place, Santa Fe County

Victim: 29 YOM

Deputies were dispatched to a report of extortion. The Victim advised, an unknown person threatened to leak an intimate video of him if he did not pay 3,000 dollars. No money was paid. The suspect was blocked on social media platforms.
