Victim had been suffering from several health conditions, including breathing issues. Victim was not feeling well, prior to death. No signs of foul play. Death is classified as natural cause.

Location: Interstate 25 mm 280, Santa Fe, NM
At about 9:42pm on 1/31/09, a husband and wife were traveling on I-25 and were victims of a shooting, apparently resulting from road rage. The victims stated they were nearly run off the roadway by a white Chevy pickup two to three times. They stopped in an attempt to get away and the Chevy also stopped. The driver of the Chevy exited and approached the victims as they started to drive away again. The driver of the Chevy brandished a handgun and fired one shot at the victim's vehicle. The bullet entered through the passenger side window but missed the passenger. During the investigation, bullet fragments were recovered from the rear passenger area of the vehicle. The Chevy pickup was last seen traveling northbound on I-25.
At the time of report, the suspect had not been identified or located.
