Victim reports while driving his Semi(Freightliner) northbound on Hwy 14 milepost 41 an object that appears to have been a bullet broke through his windshield. No injuries were reported. case is under investigation.

Location: Interstate 25 Northbound Mile Marker 278
Arrested: Jose Luis Tapia, 18 yoa, Santa Fe, NM
Numerous 911 calls were received reporting a wrong way driver on Interstate 25 at mile marker 278. Sheriff's Deputies responded to the area and shut down travel ramps and traffic on the interstate to enable the interception of the wrong way driver that was caught traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of the highway.
The driver was identified as Jose Luis Tapia and was found to be consuming whiskey while driving. The suspect stated that he was attempting to follow a friend on the interstate and decided to turn around. The suspect then drove the wrong way into traffic for several miles, until he was stopped by Officers.
No one was injured and the suspect was arrested and submitted to chemical testing. The BAC results were .16 and .15. He was booked accordingly.
