Deputies encountered the subject asleep at the wheel of a vehicle with it's hazard lights on. Investigation revealed the subject had driven to the location and fallen asleep with the vehicle in the roadway. The subject refused to do SFST's and was arrested. However, he did submit to chemical testing which revealed a .32 .33 BrAC. He was booked into SFADC.

Arrested: Cesar Marquez Lozano 42 yoa male (Santa Fe)
Subject was stopped after being observed traveling 58 mph in a 35 mph zone. During initial contact, signs of intoxication were observed. SFST's were conducted and signs of impariment were observed. Subject was arrested and agreed to be tested. Subject provided a breath sample which revealed a .14, 14 BrAC. He was booked into SFADC without further incident.

Arrested:Steven Ewers 62 yoa male (Santa Fe)
Subject was stopped after the vehicle he was operating did not have tail lamps and was observed failing to stop for a red light. Subject showed signs of intoxication and submitted to SFST's. Subject showed multiple signs of impairment and was arrested. A breath test revealed a .16,.15 BRaC. Subject was booked into SFADC without incident.

On Tuesday, May 16, 2023, deputies were notifed of a fraud which occurred recently. Contact was made with the victim who advised unknown persons had written fraudulent checks for an amount over $2500. This case remains under investigation.

SUSPECT: UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME
VICTIM WAS AT WORK GOING TO FIX A FRONT END LOADER WHEN HE ENTERED THE PROPERTY HE SAW TWO MALES AND ADVISD THEM THEY SHOULD NOT BE ON THE PROPERTY. AFTER TELLING THE MALES TO LEAVE THE LOCATION AND A BRIEF INTERACTION WITH THEM AND SOME SUGGESTIVE HAND GESTURE. HE LATER HEARD SHOTS BEING FIRED AT HIM FROM ATOP A RIDGE. VICTIM WAS NOT INJURED AND SUSPECTS WERENT FOUND.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop after an NCIC check revealed that the vehicle had an expired registration. The NCIC check also revealed that the vehicle's Registered Owner (RO) had an active warrant for his arrest. The deputy observed the registered owner in the backseat, matching the NCIC photograph. RO identified himself as an outstanding person. The subject was arrested and booked at SFADF without incident.
