Deputies were dispatched to a private residence; in reference to a stolen homemade trailer. This trailer was stolen from this property sometime between 7am and 8:50am on Sunday, November 1, 2020. This is an on-going investigation.

Arrestee: Jose Rick Chavez Jr., 25 YOM
On Sunday, October 31st, 2020, Deputy Ficke conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with an improper displayed registration plate. An MVD inquiry showed the driver, Jose Rick Chavez Jr.'s driving privileges were revoked. Chavez was placed under arrest and booked accordingly.

On Sunday, October 31st, 2020, Deputy Ficke conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with an expire registration plate. An MVD inquiry showed the driver, Johnny Paul Chavez's driving privileges were revoked. Chavez was placed under arrest and booked accordingly.

Location: Entrada Las Casas, Espanola, NM
On Sunday, October 31, 2020, deputies responded to the above area; in reference, to a burglary of a motor vehicle. Sometime between the hours of 10 pm on 10-30-2020 and noon on 10-31-2020, an unknown suspect entered a pickup in a private drive. The suspect damaged the ignition in the failed attempt to steal this vehicle. The investigation is on going.

Victim: William Repass, 89 YOM
On Sunday, October 31st, 2020, deputies responded to the above area in reference to a not conscious and not breathing male. Deputies arrived on scene and immediately started life-saving procedures until paramedics took over. Ultimately, no signs of life were noted and OMI responded to the scene. No foul play was observed and the death appeared to be of natural causes.

Victim: 63 year old male
Items Taken: Central Pneumale air compressor, Lister heat gun, Dewalt 1/2 inch drill and a Makita Impact drill-($840)
Victim stated between Thursday October 29, 2020 at 6:00pm and Friday October 30, 2020 at 8:00am an unknown person(s) took items listed. The residence is an active construction site. Victim lives on property and did not hear or see anything. Victim did not report the incident in a timely manner due to being busy and installing a roof on the residence. Case is under investigation.
